### Iraq War Cost

The Neocon Express

McCain's idea of winning is a 100 year occupation of Iraq. Don't be fooled, McCain is anything but a liberal. He is a neocon soldier that supports the PNAC agenda. He's perfectly willing to sacrifice our troops in the quest for new markets and oil profits. He embraces the view that Iran and it's people are expendable and a pre-emptive strike policy is the American idea of compassion and fostering democracy and freedom in the World. John McCain is ready to open the southern borders and roll out the North American Union, essential to the transition to a corporatist Global governing body. McCain is not a "straight talker" at all. He campaigned relentlessly against the Bush tax cuts, but changed his mind even though the tax cuts meet none of the criteria he laid out as necessary. He recently refused to vote on the "economic stimulus" package he campaigned as necessary for the American people. Straight talk? Political maneuvering. What really happened while he was a POW? We have to take his word for it, or do we? A multitude of Veterans have a different view of the "war hero". A man of character and integrity, this coming from fellow philanderer, Rudy Giuliani (another "hero"). The heartbreaking story of how Mrs. McCain (the first one) was dumped by our "war hero" for a young, rich "Cindy" is disturbing to most, but to Giuliani it's the hallmark of "integrity". We were taken for fools by the Cheney/Bush Cabal, will we now say, "Thank you Sir, may I please have another"? The "Neocon Express", coming to the White House soon.

I don't see it happening, man. McCain is winning because the repubs have all but folded for the Nov. Election. Those who are voting in the primaries are voting on the democrat side AGAINST Obama, or Clinton...whichever they feel is more unelectible due to race or sex and affiliation with Bill. I once thought McCain would be a good middle-of-the-road candidate. Especially when Kerry was entertaining the idea of running him as his VP. IMHO, he will not win the conservative vote for that very reason. The democrats will really have to screw the pooch to lose this one, Dem....not that they can't, but I don't look to see a huge republican bounce until the economy picks back up, and/or the Iraq war is under control (spending-wise). I have been wrong before, however.

Sorry guys, The crap board was busy and I haven't been here in a few.
I can't seem to figure out if the Pubs want McCain or what the F is up. I have had a virus all week, but damn, I am confused.
Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain has a lot of documents, videos, etc. I haven't had time to wade thru it all, so I gave my erstwhile(is that a word) friend Wally the link and I am sure after he gets over his Saturday, he'll be posting from it.
I am still waiting for McCain to have his Dean Scream moment, I'd love for it to happen live, a debate, perhaps?
I swear that have that guy drugged up.

I don't know, Huck. McCain is even better than Bush when it comes to playing "front man" for globalization and American domination. The Republican Party is more relevant than the Republican "voter". One guarantee is Repubs will vote Repubs, so they have an automatic advantage if the Repub candidate can compete "as a Democrat". John McCain is the only candidate, other than Ron Paul, that can pull this off. Unfortunately, Ron Paul cannot compete "as a Republican" so his odds as the Nominee are greatly reduced in comparison. While McCain may not appeal directly to Republicans, he is Republican "enough" to discourage cross-over votes. He is certainly moderate enough to capture a bulk of the moderates and his consideration by Kerry after Lieberman with Gore raises a sort of obscure democratic "link" with McCain that could well be manipulated and exploited in the general campaign. As for the Democrats "screwing the pooch", Huck, we've seen it happen before. Ultimately, the Democratic Party must remain focused on unity or we lose. I'm convinced it is no fluke that McCain is being selected. I'm convinced the alienation of the neocon faction by Rush Limbaugh is part of a greater strategy. You want a ticket that can compete "as a Democrat", look no further than Joseph Lieberman. Ramp up the "war on terror" as more important than the economy or short term sacrifice because if we "lose the war on terror, there won't be an economy to worry about". History making tickets? Take your pick. Certainly a "mixed" ticket of Repub/"Dem" is a first and Lieberman was already "vetted" by the Dems regarding his Jewish heritage (historical relevance as well). As I said, Democratic unity is absolutely paramount to a Democratic victory in November, in my humble opinion.

I agree Sturange that swiftboating McCain is an effective strategy at the message board level, but on the national stage it raises some serious consequences. The Democratic candidate would be forced to condemn the ads every time a 527 raised it's ugly head and ultimately it would be hypocritical to lend any weight to such tactics after the disgusting display of 2000 and 2004 that resulted in the failed Bush Presidency (recognized as such by McCain and most Republicans). The only ones that would consider the ads (as a meaningful percentage) are the Neoconservatives that are basically "boycotting" this coming election anyway (as part of the Rush strategy). This would help to instill a Republican culture of "exorcising" the neocon demons by voting McCain and it could very well generate rebellious Democrats and left leaning Independents. I know, it all sounds really complex, but just as you said, it's hard to figure out "what the F" is up. But one thing is certain, the Republicans are not as confused as Democrats might think at the national level.

You have a point. I am taking for granted the fact that hundreds of thousands of young voters, minority voters, and disinfranchised voters who have not cast a ballot in decades, if at-all, are registering to vote in droves; and it isn't McCain or Huckaby's party getting them out there, either. McCain is not loved by the conservative base. his compromises with Democrats have made him into a parriah within the right wing Republican party. The fact is he's TOO close to democratic for them, and I have heard conservatives in my office threaten not to vote at all, in protest....of course this is Alabama we're talking about, and they want Huckabee. What if Baraq got Colin Powell? Regardless, you make a good point in that if Democrats don't find a way to state their positions and back away, allowing the chips to fall where they may we will see things get nasty[ that is to no one's bennefit but mcCain and the Republican party. It is my belief that Hillary and Barak should shy away from the "contrast-angles" in their commercials and simply stump for the votes instead. Too many people have been jaded by Bush's policies over the years to fall for the same crap under a different label modified to be middle of the road friendly, plus the Republican party wont survive a presidential election without the wing nuts...they are too proud and too willing to take the loss, biding their time. Four years is not much time to clean up eight years of Bush sabotage, and the blame for not fixing Bush's failures will be planted squarely on this next president by the now hibernating NeoConservative Base come the 2012 election. Mark my words.

HUCK!!! Great video on McCain! Can you set it up for autoplay? By the way, we could use a few more bloggers. Not that I mind the current company, but the three of us are going to have a difficult time "changing the world" in our corner cubicle. Any ideas?

I HAD TO. Dem, I'm attempting to get some highly opinionated educators in here, but it is tough to get everyone on the same page....literally. Don't give up...between myself and deb, well get this joint hopping. I'm still getting the hang of it. Business is at ta standstill right now, that just means that whatever we get in....it has to be completed for fabrication like yesterday, so I'm working hard, then hardly working, et-cetera, ad-nausium. Keep checking in, y'all. Things are just beginning to heat up on the presidential race. I am afraid Clinton is blinded by the whitehouse and will do anything to get there, so it could still be a bumpy ride. Now we have recognized the new Kosovo's independance. Russia is still vehemently opposed to this recognition. Russia still sees itself as our enemy. Does this worry anyone but me??? We'll get there, DemLucky...not that the three of us could NOT change the world, but I'd like a little help.
